The tantric yogis understood that real transformation involves turning your own “lead” into the shining “gold” that is your greatest personal asset. Your greatest strengths lie hidden in your greatest challenges. In this workshop we will explore the Third Chakra, the Manipura – the subtle energy center where that deep personal power resides often disguised in the form of fears, hang-ups, worries, insecurities and/or jealousies. It is here that personal issues can be transformed into vital energy which can be harnessed for personal growth. The Third Chakra is the Alchemist’s crucible through which you can catalyze your life and provide fuel for the expansive potential of the heart.
Integrating knowledge of yoga and Ayurveda as well as scientific understandings of the neuro-endocrine structures related to the Third Chakra, Kaoverii has developed yoga sequences to help you develop and strengthen the structural, physiological, energetic and emotional aspects of the Third Chakra. You will learn what the traditional Tantric texts have revealed about this sacred energy center and be introduced to Carl Jung’s theory about the Third Chakra and its relevance to your physical and psycho-emotional health, and spiritual growth. You will leave this workshop with yogic tools to help you keep your third chakra balanced, healthy and strong.

Description
Yoga, a word which means “union” in Sanskrit, is an ancient, comprehensive mind-body system for facilitating physical health, emotional balance and spiritual growth. Yoga offers a holistic approach to establish integrity of the body, mind, spirit and relationships. In this one-day workshop, the history and theory behind the practice of yoga will be explored and discussed. Participants will learn how to implement a range of basic yoga techniques such as breath and body awareness techniques, breathing techniques to facilitate relaxation or increase energy, yoga nidra (deep relaxation), gentle stretching using a chair, and yoga techniques for shifting repetitive thought patterns. Opportunity to practice yoga during the workshop will help participants effectively use yoga to improve mental health and recovery. Yoga is a practice which can be utilized by people of any physical ability and fosters spiritual development in the context of any belief system.
Objectives
Upon Completion of this Workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of Yoga (beyond simply the physical “stretching” practices) and how they relate to mental health including research-based efficacy.
- Identify at least two protective factors that occur when spiritual development is encouraged and practiced.
- Incorporate basic yoga techniques into clinical practice including using it with diverse groups, different belief systems and a range of movement abilities.
- Utilize the application of Yoga as a tool for relieving stress across a broad range of mental/emotional conditions, including the clinicians self-care.

Chakras are subtle energy centers which control physical, psychological and spiritual health. Many current teachings about the chakras come from a New Age perspective (post 1970). In this four day intensive workshop you will delve into the chakras from the perspective of the ancient Tantrics – the yogis who first perceived and wrote about the chakras. This workshop offers a history of chakra theory and gives an in-depth look at the system as interpreted by Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell and other innovative thinkers.
You will gain a deep understanding of yogic macro and micro cosmology – of how the innate order of the universe reflects in our psychology and subtle anatomy. Asanas and other hatha tantric yoga practices were originally developed to balance the chakra system. You will learn yoga postures and practices to bring the inner world into its natural harmony and balance it with the external order of things. And you will acquire tools, crafted through the timeless technology of yoga and tantra, to balance your own chakra system and to help others balance theirs.
